The Fill Management Division is mainly responsible for formulation and management of the overall public fill strategy as well as marine mud disposal and marine fill supply strategy, including management of public fill reception facilities, construction waste sorting facilities and mud disposal facilities. The Division comprises seven Sections, each headed by a Senior Engineer. There is a total of about 120 staff working in the Division, of whom about 20 are professional civil engineers.
The division is mainly engaged in the following areas of activity:
- Formulation of the overall public fill strategy and programme, planning of short-term and long-term strategic public fill reception facilities and construction waste sorting facilities.
- Management of public fill reception facilities and construction waste sorting facilities and dumping licences and related matters.
- Identification and management of the supply and demand of marine fill resources for all Government, quasi-Government and major private projects.
- Provision and management of disposal capacity for dredged/excavated sediments.
