Stratigraphy: Early Cretaceous volcanic rocks with ages of approximately 140.7 ± 0.2 million years before present.
Distribution: The Clear Water Bay Formation crops out in eastern Kowloon and eastern New Territories south of the Chek Keng Fault.
Lithology: Flow-banded porphyritic rhyolite lava, rhyolite breccia and eutaxitic vitric tuff.
