Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) collaborated with the Yan Chai Hospital and the Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society, Kowloon, to organise the "CEDD Summer Programme 2021" in July and August 2021.  About 40 teachers and students from six secondary schools were invited to a series of study trips to CEDD's facilities and construction sites, such as Fill Bank at Tseung Kwan O Area 137, Public Works Central Laboratory, the Cross Bay Link at Tseung Kwan O and Long Valley Nature Park, which are both under construction, to let students to have a better understanding of the services and contributions of CEDD to the society.

The programme was concluded with a closing ceremony cum workshop on 11 August 2021, in which educational booths, e.g. demonstration of seawall design with wave tank and display of origami art pieces about Lantau wildlife, were provided to enhance students' knowledge on our works.  In the ceremony, teachers and students shared their overall experiences with the programme with our Director and guests from the two collaborating organisations .  They were looking forward to more similar activities in the future.
