Public Works Laboratories Automated Testing Building Open House – HK SciFest 2023
The Geotechnical Engineering Office of Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) will organise the Public Works Laboratories Automated Testing Building Open House as one of the HK SciFest events on 8 April 2023 (Saturday).
In this event, we will introduce the services provided by the Public Works Laboratories. In particular, demonstration of our newly developed automated systems for concrete cube, steel rebar and soil testing will be provided to the participants. The automated systems adopted numerous advanced automation and robotic technologies as well as the application of computer vision analysis, which enabled the whole testing processes fully automatic and significantly enhanced the efficiency of the testing services.

Application Procedures
- Please submit your completed Application Form by e-mail to pwl_openday2023@cedd.gov.hk. The application will be handled on a first-come-first-served basis. In the event of any disputes, the decision of the Department shall be final.
- Upon receipt of the application, an email confirmation will be issued to the applicant. Both the successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified of the application result via email.
