Tung Chung New Town Extension – Site Formation and Infrastructure Works at Tung Chung Valley, Phase 1 and Fanling North New Development Area, Phase 1: Fanling Bypass Eastern Section (Shek Wu San Tsuen North to Lung Yeuk Tau) projects were awarded the Honorable Mention in the Autodesk Hong Kong BIM Awards 2024

We were honoured to announce that "Contract No. NL/2020/06 – Site Formation and Infrastructure Works at Tung Chung Valley, Phase 1" and "Contract No. ND/2019/04 - Fanling North New Development Area, Phase 1: Fanling Bypass Eastern Section (Shek Wu San Tsuen North to Lung Yeuk Tau)" of the Civil Engineering and Development Department received the Honorable Mention at the Autodesk Hong Kong BIM Awards 2024 on 20 November 2024, which recognize our use of innovative technology.
The project teams leveraged the Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology to create BIM models during the design and construction stages, such as simulating the construction process of revitalisation of Tung Chung Stream and Fanling Bypass Eastern Section to evaluate construction time and costs, thereby formulating appropriate plans to enhance construction efficiency. The BIM models facilitated communication amongst the entire project team, including frontline supervisors and workers, and minimized errors in the information transmission process, thereby comprehensively improved supervision, management and safety of the construction site. In Addition, the project team utilized BIM technology to create Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) models, which enabled the public to visualize the final product during the public engagement events.
The project team is greatly encouraged by this award, which affirms our achievements in applying BIM technology and recognizes our efforts.
