Abstract

This report provides a brief review of some drained reclamation works in Hong Kong. The review includes projects which were built from 1950s up to 1995. The general design and construction methods for reclamation works are described, the techniques to deal with the effects of any subsequent settlements on structures, utilities and roads are explained, and guidance is provided via the examples of eight case histories.
