Abstract

This report presents the findings of a study of a distressed hillside near Kwu Tung Reservoir (Incident No. LI2007/04/2001, LI2007/04/2002 and LI2007/04/2003). The distress, in the form of tension cracks and landslide scars, was exposed after a hillfire in early April 2007.

The key objectives of this study were to document the facts about the distress and to present relevant background information. The scope of the study includes site inspection, ground investigation and diagnosis of the cause of the incidents.
