CEDD Signed Contract for Kwu Tung North New Development Area, Remaining Phase: Improvement Works of Fanling Highway (Kwu Tung Portion) and Associated Works

The Civil Engineering and Development Department signed a contract of about HK$ 4,833 million on 30 August 2024 with China State - STEC Joint Venture for carrying out improvement works of Fanling Highway (Kwu Tung Portion) and associated works for Remaining Phase development of Kwu Tung North New Development Area.The works mainly comprise:-
- site clearance and formation (including land decontamination works);
- widening of Fanling Highway (Kwu Tung Portion);
- modification of Castle Peak Road (Kwu Tung Portion);
- construction of footbridges across Fanling Highway (Kwu Tung Portion);
- construction of Kwu Tung Interchange;
- modification of Kwu Tung Road and construction of Road L3;
- construction of associated works including water mains, drainage and sewerage works, roadworks, cycle tracks, footpaths, box culverts, junction improvement works, slope works, retaining walls, street furniture, landscaping works, electrical and mechanical works and other ancillary works;
- implementation of environmental mitigation measures (including noise enclosures, noise barriers and low-noise road surfacing) and environmental monitoring works for the works mentioned above; and
- installation of Traffic Control and Surveillance System and conduction of associated testing and commissioning of Fanling Highway (Pak Shek Au, Kwu Tung and Tai Tau Leng Portion).
