CEDD Signed Contract for Kwu Tung North New Development Area, Remaining Phase: Site Formation and Infrastructure Works (South)

The Civil Engineering and Development Department signed a contract of about HK$ 4.1 billion on 16 September 2024 with Build King – Richwell Engineering Joint Venture for carrying out site formation and infrastructure works for the Remaining Phase development of Kwu Tung North New Development Area.
The works mainly comprise:-
- site formation of lands (including site clearance and land decontamination works) and ground investigation within Kwu Tung North New Development Area (KTN NDA);
- construction of at-grade roads within KTN NDA connecting to Castle Peak Road and Fanling Highway;
- construction of a vehicular bridge connecting proposed Road L1 and Road L2;
- construction of footbridges at proposed Road P2;
- construction of noise barriers and low noise road surfacing;
- construction of common utility enclosure and associated works;
- construction of a visitor centre; and
- ancillary works including footpaths, cycle tracks, lighting, traffic aids, drainage, sewerage, water mains, district cooling mains, landscaping works, slope works and electrical and mechanical works.
The works commenced on 23 August 2024 and will take about 71 months to complete.
