CEDD Signed Contract for Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen New Development Area Second Phase Development - Contract 3

The Civil Engineering and Development Department signed a contract of about HK$ 3,363 million on 22 October 2024 with Gammon - Richwell Engineering Joint Venture for carrying out site formation and infrastructure works for Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen New Development Area Second Phase development.
The works mainly include:-
- site clearance and formation (including land decontamination works) for about 50 hectares of lands, together with provision of associated engineering infrastructure;
- construction of district distributor and local roads connecting Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen New Development Area to Tin Ha Road and Castle Peak Road;
- construction of a pedestrian footbridge and associated stairs and lifts;
- construction of a vehicular underpass and associated depressed roads;
- realignment and revitalisation of some sections of Tin Sam Channel;
- construction of a sewage pumping station;
- construction of a common utility enclosure;
- reprovision of a sitting-out area near Tung Lei Path;
- modification of existing MTR Light Rail Transit junctions at Castle Peak Road;
- modification of MTR Tuen Ma Line Emergency Access Point 26 in Tuen Mun;
- construction of associated works including water mains, drainage and sewerage works, district cooling mains, cycle tracks, footpaths, box culverts, landscaping works, electrical and mechanical works and other ancillary works; and
- implementation of environmental mitigation measures (including noise barriers) and environmental monitoring works for the works mentioned above.
The works commenced on 18 October 2024 for completion in 2032.
